Spray painting preparation

This is how the professionals do it – painting preparation is a crucial step in painting.

Below we show you the optimum products for painting preparation and explain the application:

• Cleaner
  Before painting, it is important to thoroughly clean the surface of dirt, grease, oil, silicone, wax, tar, adhesive residues, etc. The DUPLI-COLOR SILICONE REMOVER => Cleaner is used for degreasing and cleaning the surface, thus ensuring optimal adhesion.

• Primer
  The primer is the base coat applied to the prepared surface (sanded and cleaned). It is the bonding bridge between the surface (metal or plastic) and the subsequent coating. The DUPLI-COLOR Primer is added in a thin layer and is used for corrosion protection on metallic surfaces.

• Filler 
  As the name suggests, the DUPLI-COLOR Filler is used to fill in small surface imperfections, grinding grooves or to close pores. This is particularly important in order to form a uniform and safe-wearing surface for the subsequent car paint. Depending on the adhesion properties of the filler, a primer must be pre-applied.

• Spray putty
  The Spray putty  is used to quickly and professionally close pores and small imperfections on polyester putty and to compensate for coarse abrasive scratches. A filler must then be applied to the spray putty.

The surface is optimally prepared for the application of the paint spray by the carefully applying Cleaner, Primer, Filler and/or Spray Putty. This professional build-up makes the lacquer long-lasting.
